Sharon Kate Ng’ang’a is a multi-faceted social entrepreneur with a special knack for community development. Her current position as the Founder and Director of New Book Media draws from her vast experience as a Girl Child and Youth Advocate, Youth Mentor, Media Personality and all round Artist. 

In addition she is an alumnae of the Precious Blood Secondary School Riruta, Akili Dada Organization and University of Nairobi, School of Economics and Statistics. 

A notable speaker and moderator, her work has landed her at global events such as the 2016 UNCTAD Youth Forum in Nairobi, Kenya as a keynote address; 2016 Universal Day of the Child Forum by Safaricom Limited as the Youth keynote speaker; and the 2016 Segal Family Foundation Annual African Meeting as one of four selected Kenyan Youth Delegates held in Kampala, Uganda. Miss Ng’ang’a was also the youngest Youth Mentor and Speaker during the inaugural 2016 Blaze Kenya by Safaricom Limited Youth Network Campaign, sharing her empowering and personal story with thousands of youth in six different counties in Kenya. She is also a sort after voice on Youth panel discussions.  

Sharon was selected as the 2016 Segal Young Rockstar at the Segal Family Foundation Annual Meeting.

Sharon has worked as a TV Presenter, co-producer and co-director of ground-breaking youth shows, the Chartlist and TAKE 42, in Kenya with a focus on women and girl child empowerment, youth development, entertainment, culture among other topical issues. Her love for the community has also seen her engaged by Women Girls Lead Global, an organization that aims to amplify the voice of women in leadership, as a film facilitator in Nairobi, Kenya. 

A passionate entrepreneur, Sharon established New Book Media Limited, an innovation space focusing on the Information and Communication sector. Among her annual projects was the 2016 Girls Have Dreams Campaign, an entrepreneurial networking mentorship forum and movement created to spark economic, social and personal empowerment for the girl child through candid conversations. 

New Book Media is currently running a multimedia campaign, My Mental Matters (2017), on the sensitization and development of positive mental practices on Mental Health in Kenyan Youth.
